Dining out? of course! There is a plentitude of restaurants, pizzerias and trattorias to suit all occasions, far too many to list here. However, our personal favourites are Cadabo, Le Busche, outside Montecarotto, Vecchio Rotone, Jolanda, Moie, Eden, Ristorante Da Carlo, Vinciomaria at Terrazza Marconi, Senigallia, Al Giardino, Mondavio, IL Perbacco near Jesi, and many more! Local and Regional useful websites
Ancona Province official website, some of which is in English.
Poggio San Marcello Comune information on the local scene (in Italian).
Senigallia Comune tourist site in English.
Colli Esini - (district of rural quality). Useful regional site in English.
Frasassi Caves spectacular caves at Genga near Fabriano well worth a visit (in English).
Festivals and Events (prodottitipici) - Website that gives an idea of the festivals and events going on in Marche each year. There are literally hundreds of festas and sagras all over the region throughout the year including Poggio San Marcello's 'Poggio in Flower' (April), 'Cena Giramondo', where foreigners (like us) produce their traditional home country dishes for a big international party held in early August. A great festival to visit is in nearby Serra de' Conti for the last weekend in November and Festa di Cicerchia (A type of chick pea) where there are dozens of cantinas and lots of entertainment going on.
Teatro Pergolesi – Website in English, and many other languages. Jesi's beautiful traditional theatre with a comprehensive opera and music program throughout the year. Celebrating 300th Anniversary of Giovanni Pergolesi 1710-2011. Events at other towns can be booked here too.
Teatro delle Muse of Ancona. Another wonderful theatre which hosts a variety of concerts and productions of international note. Website in English and Italian.
Little more than an hour away is Macerata where the Sferisiterio is located. It is second only to Verona for its high quality opera productions in the open air. Productions start in July until August. Also in Macerata is the Teatro Laura Rossi which also has acclaimed productions. (Did you know that the Marche region has more active theatres (76+) than any other region in Italy!).
For when you want to chill out at home: SKY Italia. Good satellite TV coverage with many news channels from USA, UK, Germany etc., plus lots of entertainment, film and sports channels most of which are broadcast in original language. A variety of package deals are on offer as are HD services.

ViaMichelin - excellent location map service and route mapping, in English (and other languages) and its FREE.
GoogleMaps - also good for route planning. Driving to Italy is pretty easy these days as motorways connect right across Europe and there are no custom barriers. Our two best routes have been via France or via Germany and Austria.
